In the harsh northern lands, the law of the  strongest prevails. Scarce resources are fiercely  contested, often leaving the weaker individuals  with little. Skall stands along the frigid coastline  of the northern ice lands, a single haven and  sanctuary amid this lawless expanse. Marked by lengthy winters and treacherous  icy waters dotted with perilous icebergs Skall confronts an unforgiving environment.

As the furthest northern village, Skall serves  as a vital gateway for travelers and adventurers  heading toward the ancient ruins in the  mountains and other structures scattered across  the icy landscape. During certain seasons, the  town transforms into a bustling hub, teeming  with traders, explorers, and mercenaries.  However, for much of the year, Skall is isolated  by the harsh winter.

Skall’s origins trace back to a group of dwarves seeking refuge, forced to abandon their mountain homes after a disaster displaced them.  The founding dwarves, skilled in craftsmanship and survival in the harsh northern lands, managed to establish a thriving community. but, over time, humans sought refuge in Skall, who were welcomed by the dwarves initially. Skall experienced integration, with the small groups of nomadic humans joining the dwarven culture and for many years lived in peace and harmony together.

However, in recent years the human influx has grown out of hand as human refugees known as the Rohai from the ice wastes have made  their way to Skall. These newer arrivals in the thousands heavily outnumber the dwarfs and  the originally settled humans of Skall, straining the resources of the town as they struggle to accommodate such large numbers.
